The "before" version of the front of the home
It’s nearly impossible to tell that an entirely new second floor was added to this home—a deliberate result of preserving the original façade while thoughtfully expanding upward. A fresh, lighter color palette softens the former red brick foundation, creating a more cohesive exterior and giving the home a stronger, more refined presence from the street.
The "before" version of the home's front porch
A refreshed front porch creates a gracious outdoor living space designed for both gathering and dining. With more than 300 square feet of usable space, the porch easily accommodates a dining table for six along with two full-sized couches and a central table—perfect for entertaining or relaxed everyday living.
The "before" version of the home's main hallway - dark, closed in, no lighting at all
Serving as the main artery of the home, this grand hallway offers uninterrupted views from the front door to the backyard and was designed to make a striking first impression. A new, larger double door with floor-to-ceiling glass, paired with herringbone wood floors and bright, layered lighting, transforms the space and creates a truly dramatic impact.
The "before" version of the dining room
With the kitchen relocated to what was formerly a bedroom adjacent to the dining room, opening the wall to create two generous passageways was a natural choice, strengthening the connection between the spaces. An accidental demolition of the original fireplace surround became an unexpected opportunity to reimagine it in Georgia marble, adding a refined focal point to the room.
The "before" version of the front living room
The wall leading into what was formerly the kitchen was closed to create a new primary bedroom. The original fireplace and mantel were refinished in a complementary tone that highlights and enhances the home’s beautifully preserved original tile.
This dramatic kitchen balances restraint and impact. Custom cabinetry is designed to read as freestanding furniture, seamlessly concealing all appliances for a clean, cohesive look. Anchoring the space, a substantial island delivers generous work surfaces and abundant storage on both sides, combining beauty with everyday function.
Designed as a private retreat, the primary bathroom showcases a double vanity crowned with an ultra-thick slab of Georgia marble, paired with a spacious walk-in shower outfitted with six sprayers for an indulgent, spa-level experience.
The primary bedroom is anchored by an original, working fireplace and offers ample space for a king-sized bed, with picture-frame wall molding lending an elevated, classic feel.
